Police, after spending a year on the sidelines, are returning to big-time football by merging with Thai League One club BEC Tero Sasana. Chakthip is the national police chief and Marcar is president of BEC Tero Entertainment, which owns the BEC Tero Sasana team. The national police chief told a news conference yesterday: "The Police Tero FC is a joint venture between Police United and BEC Tero Sasana. I am hoping that we will finish the top 10 in this year's Thai League One." Police Tero FC will kick off their Thai League One campaign against Pattaya United at their new home on Feb 11.
